"Chimney Safety Advise"

"Local chimney sweep Gary Starbuck of ‘Starbuck Sweeps’ will be in the Market Square, Saffron Walden on Saturday  30th March from 9 am to 3 pm.

A member of the Guild of Master Chimney Sweeps, Gary will be offering advice on how to get the most out of solid fuel fires and log burners.

Dressed in traditional chimney sweep attire, he will also be encouraging the public to consider fire safety and be promoting the importance of having chimneys swept regularly by a trained professional.

With over 6.000 chimney fires last year the hazard is often overlooked."Gary said ‘At this time of year there is also the additional problem of birds nesting in chimneys, I hope to raise awareness of these potential safety risks and answer any questions that the public have"
